Description
The Scream is the popular name of a composition created in 1893 by the Norwegian expressionist artist Edvard Munch. The original German title Munch gave to his work was Der Schrei der Natur (The Scream of Nature), and the Norwegian title is Skrik (Scream)). The painting's haunted face has become one of the most iconic art images, seen as a symbol of the anguish of the human condition.
